As part of this effort, Meeran Art & Crafts will be conducting a Channapatna Wooden Toy Painting Workshop at the 13th National Review Conference of PMFBY (Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana), organised by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, and hosted at JW Marriott, Bengaluru, on 18 January 2026.

Channapatna Wooden Toy Painting Workshop at PMFBY National Review Conference, Bengaluru

On 18 January 2026, our artisan team successfully conducted a Channapatna Wooden Toy Painting Workshop at the 13th National Review Conference of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), organised by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, and hosted at JW Marriott, Bengaluru.

The workshop was conducted for a distinguished audience comprising IAS and IPS officers, senior policymakers, programme implementers, and domain experts from across India. Through a hands-on and interactive format, participants were introduced to the heritage, craftsmanship, and skill systems of Channapatna wooden toys, a 225-year-old GI-tagged craft of India.

Our artisans demonstrated traditional toy painting techniques using natural, non-toxic lac colours, highlighting the craft’s sustainability, child-safe design principles, and its role in preserving India’s intangible cultural heritage. The session also served as an awareness initiative, showcasing how traditional crafts contribute to artisan livelihoods, rural employment, and sustainable value chains.

The successful execution of this workshop reflects growing institutional recognition of Channapatna toy making as a living heritage craft and reinforces our ongoing commitment to artisan empowerment, GI protection, and craft-based education at national and policy levels.
